Sting will return to Chile on October 29 to perform his greatest hits at the Movistar Arena in Santiago. Tickets are available at www.puntoticket.com/sting.
Sting first came to the country in the summer of 1982 with The Police, to perform at the Festival of Vina del Mar. In 1990, he returned as a solo artist on the Amnesty International Tour and dedicated the song "They Dance Alone ' to the Chilean women who had lost their loved ones during the military regime. He then performed in 1994 at the San Carlos de Apoquindo Stadium followed by a concert in 2001 at the Athletic Track of the National Stadium, on which occasion he was decorated by the government to order teachers and Gabriela Mistral Cultural Merit for his contribution to the defense of human rights. The next important visit was with The Police, in 2007, during the band’s reunion world tour. The National Stadium hosted this memorable event celebrating 30 years since they began their journey. Sting returned in 2011 to the first place he performed in Chile: the Quinta Vergara in Vina del Mar Festival, with a symphonic show that delighted all who were able to watch it live or through the telecast.
